ABOUT DFW RESOURCE GROUP / COMMUNITY RESOURCE ASSOCIATES and AMY ZEPEDA
Founded on the fact that this is a time and economy when many people need help and are often paralyzed by the overabundance of information, DFW Resource Group / Community Resource Associates functions as a point of contact and liaison (Transition Concierge) between the “dehired” (an individual who is unemployed but has the possibility of being “rehired”), our Strategic Partners, Human Resources Departments, and Outsourcing Companies.
By providing services and resources to individuals and companies in order to help with lay-offs, downsizing, de-hiring, and restructuring , the goal is to establish and continue a positive relationship. DFW Resource Group has combined experts in many fields in order to accomplish this goal such as 401K Rollover, Severance Package Review, Credit Protection, Budget Planning, Legal Advice, Insurance, Real Estate Assistance, Moving & Storage (full a complete list, please see “Our Services” page).
DFW Resource Group provides solutions through our Strategic Partners who are experts in their fields. Our Strategic Partners have signed an Ethics Pledge. Because our Strategic Partner are dedicated to the process of helping people, they are committed to a high level of “peace of mind” (customer service) and quick response time. They have been qualified through referrals and an interview process to determine workload capacity, client profile matching, and a strong commitment to the process. To see how these Strategic Partners are selected, please see “Our Process” page.
A personal interview is conducted with each client to determine and prioritize their needs based on level of urgency. DFW Resource Group will consult with our Strategic Partners to analyze which services the client needs and provide a list of recommendations. If you would like to request an interview, please contact us.
DFW Resource Group is continually searching for additional sectors of the population to incorporate into its services. The next identified sectors are baby boomers and college bound high school students. As soon as our Strategic Partners are identified, we will inform you about these new services.
DFW Resource Group emerged from a need in the life of one of Amy’s real estate clients who was laid off from his job just before Christmas of 2008. “My clients were downsizing because their only son had just left for college. I had consulted with my clients over a period of a couple of months getting their house ready to sell, looking at other housing options, and, like I have with many of my clients, became friends. A couple of weeks after we listed the house, I received a call from my client. He let me know he was being laid off and he asked me what to do. His lay off would affect his ability to rent an apartment (their plan was to move into an apartment or townhouse after their home had sold), it would affect his ability to pay his current mortgage (and the upkeep of the house), it might affect his credit score, it might affect his health, and it might affect other things we hadn’t even thought about yet. I felt responsible for this person, these clients, my friends. I began a search for resources to refer him to and came up with lots of information, lots of choices, and lots of options that I had no idea if they were right, wrong, legitimate, or scams. They needed help and I was their resource. So, I started my search…calling friends, emailing trusted associates, getting the word out about what I needed. We were able to take one day and one step at a time. We processed choices and came up with a solution while exploring alternatives anticipating that some of our choices might not be available. My clients are strong. They are survivors. We helped each other find paths to a common goal. With this, I began to explore and research assistance that others in a similar situation might need. Again, information overload. How do we decide who to pick, what is the best plan, what our options are if our world has been turned upside down? Are we even in a mental state to make educated decisions about our future? What if we don’t have a resource or a trusted advisor or a family member that we can turn to for help and advice? How do we avoid becoming victims of scams like so many others have? These are the questions that started DFW Resource Group and what has shaped it into a client advocacy company.”
